The Quiraing

This is the best walk in all of Skye. It's stunning, less populated and not as well marked, so good fun since you might always go the wrong way. Since you can pretty much always see your end point ('up there!'), you just need to keep going up and along until you get to where you want to be.

This is not a super heavy walk, but the view is amazing. You can see right out across the sea, and down the island.

It's pretty amazing we had the energy to drive up to this walk and then complete it, since the night before we booked in to a Hostel that turned out to be 10 bunkbeds in a caravan, with an outside toilet and chickens. I love camping and being outside, but it was definitely not the night I had in mind.

Back to the walk - you go up, and then down again, and enjoy the views. Since there are no particular paths, you'll do a lot of walking up and down hills. It can be a bit slippy underfoot, so as always: good shoes are key.

On the way back from Skye to Glasgow, we stopped for a night at Glencoe via Glenfidditch (on the left). This is a place I'd definitely like to see more of - and frankly, the hostel seemed like a 5 star resort after the caravan.
